Venue: Battersea Arts Centre
Date: 17 October 2011
A Seminar for Artists and Training Providers to examine issues around Artist Led Leadership in Participatory Settings.
The seminar was organised by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation with funding from the Cultural Leadership Programme and sought to build on the legacy of CLP in this area whilst also informing the PHF special initiative, Art Works: Developing Practice in Participatory Settings.
The event was aimed at the PHF pathfinder programmes, organisations interested in artists leadership in participatory settings, CPD providers and trainers and artists who have undertaken the CLP funded Artist Led Leadership programmes.
It aimed to:
Create a platform for shared learning, dissemination and knowledge exchange
Explore how artists lead within participatory contexts recognising that this is a different leadership role to the leadership of organisations.
Define some areas of further research and exploration that may assist in developing the practice.
NT Creative Arts worked with ArtWorks Director, Susanne Burns, to develop the thinking behind the seminar and deliver the event.
