Artist Grace Adam’s Views & Vistas takes place in Haringey’s Priory Park, Middle Lane N8, 21st August – 19th November 2016.
Through her work, Grace hopes “to make interventions that enliven, inform and question, that awaken us to parts of our city that we no longer see clearly or perhaps even notice.”
Views & Vistas is a site-specific installation, achieved through the construction of a series of six Viewing Gates. Each Gate invites park users to stop and enjoy a part of our built environment, inside or outside the park. The Viewing Gates are made from tall tapered, notched and stained posts and invite Priory Park users to negotiate and engage with the park in different ways and offer slightly altered routes and unexpected views and vistas. It will require commuters and other park users to deviate from their default walking patterns, to slow down, to notice, to formulate responses and opinions on this piece and their park.
