Artist Grace Adam, is currently artist-in-residence at West End Anglican Parish Church, St Giles-in-the-Fields, working on the exhibition – Modes of Remembrance, The Act and Art of Remembering – a series of sculptural interventions, which form an investigation and response into monuments and memorials in St Giles-in-the-Fields, and their relationships with the space itself. Through her work, Grace hopes “to make interventions that enliven, inform and question; that awaken us to parts of our city that we no longer see clearly or perhaps even notice.”
Grace’s residency will culminate in an exhibition of work at St Giles which will commence with Open House Weekend, 20-21st September 2014, and run until 31 October. This project is supported by a research grant from the University of the Arts London and Arts Council England. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of events including a ‘Seen from Above’ viewing and participation in The Big Draw, a unique opportunity to draw with Grace at St Giles.
