Nicola Turner is the Director of NT Creative Arts. She offers arts consultancy, creative project and event development and management, training, facilitation and coaching in the cultural and creative sector. She is based in London and works all over the UK and internationally, often works with a team of associates and specialises in leadership, entrepreneurship and strategic creative planning design and development.

Consultancy includes the design and delivery of leadership programmes such as ACCELERATE  Programs for the British Council Australia; International Creative Entrepreneurs for Creative Scotland and the SEAD Program for the Mekong Cultural Hub and the British Council. Planning design and delivery includes the organisation of international delegations and collaborations for British Council Australia, British Council Turkey, Arts Council Korea and Arts Council England. Event production ranges from the Making Digital Work event at the Library of Birmingham for the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts on behalf of Nesta, Arts Council England and AHRC; The ‘D’ Word event for NitroBEAT and the Barbican and major conferences and sharing events for Artworks,  Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Nicola has also worked as consultant for University of the Arts London Awarding Body providing a robust research framework and project planning. Facilitation includes policy planning consultation and forum events for Arts for Change for the British Council Myanmar. Bespoke training workshops and talks have also been delivered for arts organisations such as the AMA and engage.

Nicola has been an Associate Tutor on the MA in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths, University of London for five years, offering academic support to students, particularly in the development of business plans. Delivery has also included contributing to the delivery of the British Council’s Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Programme in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and to the Cultural Skills Academy in St Petersburg, Moscow and Kazan supported by the British Council and the Vladimir Potanin Foundation.

Nicola was previously the Assistant Director for the Cultural Leadership Programme (CLP) leading on the strategic development of the work-based learning strand of CLP as well as the development priorities; Artist Practitioner Leadership Development and International Leadership. Her work included leading on the development and delivery of CLP Networks and Placements. Nicola worked with Director Hilary Carty and Graham Devlin to write ‘Meeting the Challenge’, a publication examining leadership development in the cultural and creative industries.

Nicola has worked as a freelance consultant with clients such as Nesta, the British Council and the Southbank Centre and she was a Programme Manager in the Fellowship Team at Nesta for four years.

She is on the Board of Unfinished Business and is the Chair of Janis Claxton Dance.
